Alabama Homecoming

Whew! It's hard to get a second to myself these days to actually sit down and blog. I'm not the best at making the most of my time. Oh, well...something else to work on.

Last weekend was homecoming at our alma mater, the University of Alabama. Since Avery was born we have tried to go to Tuscaloosa and see the parade each year. We were blessed to get to go down this year. Luckily the parade started at 1:00 so we had plenty of time to get down there.

We always eat lunch at the Ferg, so that's where we started. I was sad to see the Ferg has changed so much I barely recognized it. I have so many fun memories there with Daniel, and I wanted it to be the same. I was glad that I went to UA when I did...otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford it! It amazes me how much things cost these days. But I digress...

We had a good lunch, then went downstairs to the Supe Store (which was also completely different...boo) to stock up on tattoos and shakers then headed toward the Quad.

You can't go to T-town without seeing this fella. Avery gladly posed for a picture.

This child had to be bribed to go near Big Al.

It obviously didn't work. This is classic Colt. I love pictures like this. He's too funny.

He turned that frown upside down when he got to the bounce house.

We had to tear them away from this so we wouldn't miss the parade.

We were ready with our stickers, tattoos, and shakers. We got a prime spot on the front row and patiently waited for the parade. We were at the very end of it, so we had to wait a while. It was worth it. We had so much fun watching everyone in the parade. Colt was so cute waving to everyone. Avery learned she could give high fives to all the Suzies and had a blast.

Love that face. He was watching so intently before he got up and waved to everyone.

If anyone wants to claim these girls, they were very rude and pushed their way to the front and just stood in front of everyone. Not cool...

I hope we can continue this tradition every year until we are visiting Avery and Colt at Alabama and maybe watch them act a fool on the Mallet float, or be tipsy on the law school float. A mom can dream! Roll Tide Roll!!
