I know no one reads this blog, but as Avery and I were looking back at past posts we had fun remembering last year. So I'm going to keep this up so I will have something to look back on and show the kids.
A lot has happened already this year. Colty turned 2 in February. I was so worried that he wasn't going to talk, but by 22 months I couldn't get him to be quiet. He is so stinkin smart! He also got his first (and second, and third) haircut this year. I was sad to see the mullet go, and now he looks like a big boy.
In March Daniel started a new job driving a truck for Frito Lay. I didn't even know Frito Lay was in Fayetteville until he got the job. It came at the perfect time and has been a good job for him so far. God has been so good to us and has provided for us abundantly since we moved, and we are so grateful. Sorry, I don't have a picture of Daniel in his cute Frito Lay t-shirt. Maybe next time...
In April my sweet Avery turned 4. I can't believe how grown up she is. She will be starting PreK in a month. She is such a smart girl, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for her. This month we also made two big purchases. I really want my children, especially Colt, to learn to play the piano. Daniel's coworker was pretty much giving his away, so we took it off his hands. I'm so excited, and I hope my children are more musically inclined than I am. We also bought the kids a playset for the yard. It has been the best money we've spent.
And now we're back round to summer. It's been full of busy days, lazy days, and everything in between. We took a day trip to Chattanooga where we went to the zoo and Ruby Falls. I got lots of crazy looks as I carried my two year old through the falls. It was fun and definitely a place we will visit often.
We have also been to Spring Valley Beach this month. Last year was not fun--flat tire, freezing cold in July, Colt's busted lip. So I was a little nervous, but it was a blast. Mamaw came and entertained Colt, and Aunt B was there to go down the slides with Avery.
We have lots more summer left, and we are just going to enjoy the warm (finally!) weather and the long days. Sometimes I feel like I'm on crazy pills, but I'm enjoying this time being home with my kids and watching them learn and grow and reach new milestones. I am a little sad, though, that we aren't going to Indianapolis this year.
"But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into this world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with this we will be content."
